Two Opposites. One Mission.

Recovery In Action wasn’t born in a boardroom  it was born on living room couches, during late-night family phone calls, and in the middle of the kind of chaos only addiction can create.

Nearly 20 years ago, founder Justin Diehl launched Recovery In Action as a professional intervention and consulting firm.

With a deep commitment to helping families move from crisis to clarity, we have always focused on providing structured, compassionate guidance through one of life’s most overwhelming challenges.

Our reputation for results has led to years of continued referrals and strong word-of-mouth support.

About eight years ago, Jay Staples entered the picture — equal parts recovery advocate and creative disruptor.

He didn’t come from a clinical background.
He came from the worlds of advertising, speaking, coaching, and community impact — and he refused to accept the outdated way the recovery world communicated.

He was everything Justin wasn’t:

  • Jay revels in chaos. Justin creates order.

  • Justin plans. Jay forgets what day it is.

  • Jay talks with his hands. Justin listens like a monk.

And yet… they clicked.

What They Share And Why It Matters

Both men got sober around the same time.
And both of their families — without knowing each other — did the one thing that changed everything:

They stopped enabling.

That experience became the guiding principle of Recovery In Action:

When the family changes, everyone changes.
