Meet the Founders
Two Different Paths. One Shared Mission.
Recovery In Action wasn’t built by executives in an office.
It was built by two men who lived the chaos, survived it, and dedicated their lives to helping families break the cycle — together.

Founder, Recovery In Action
Interventionist. Family Guide. Structure Builder.
Justin Diehl is the founder of Recovery In Action and a nationally respected interventionist with nearly two decades of experience helping families navigate the chaos of addiction.
Known for his calm presence, structured approach, and deep compassion, Justin specializes in guiding families out of crisis and into action with clarity, purpose, and integrity.
Justin began his work in the recovery field after witnessing firsthand how addiction impacts not only individuals, but entire family systems. His professional journey was shaped by personal experience and a powerful truth he came to understand early on: sustainable recovery begins when families stop enabling and start engaging in their own process of change.
Through Recovery In Action, Justin has led hundreds of interventions across the country, working with families, treatment providers, and clinicians to build customized, long-term recovery plans. He brings a systems-based mindset to every case, helping loved ones establish healthy boundaries, communicate more effectively, and create the conditions necessary for lasting change.
Respected for his ability to bring order to even the most complex family dynamics, Justin’s work goes far beyond the moment of intervention. His focus is always on building relationships—not quick fixes—and supporting the ongoing process of healing.

Co-Founder, Recovery In Action Creative Disruptor. Recovery Advocate. Bridge-Builder.
Jay Staples brings a unique blend of creativity, lived experience, and strategic insight to his work in the recovery space.
Before co-founding Recovery In Action, Jay built a successful career in advertising—leading campaigns, shaping brand stories, and helping companies communicate with purpose.
But long before his time in boardrooms and creative studios, Jay was a competitive athlete, disciplined by sport and driven by performance.
That experience—both as a high-performing professional and someone personally impacted by addiction—now fuels his passion for helping others, especially athletes and high-achievers, navigate the complex intersections of identity, pressure, and recovery.
Jay’s approach to intervention and coaching is anything but traditional. He blends his background in brand strategy with a deep understanding of human behavior, guiding families, individuals, and even professional organizations through moments of crisis with clarity, honesty, and creative problem-solving. He is particularly skilled at working with athletes, entertainers, and entrepreneurs—people whose public success often masks private struggles.
A sought-after speaker and advisor, Jay is known for challenging outdated narratives around addiction and recovery. He’s committed to changing how families, teams, and communities talk about healing—not as a weakness, but as a courageous and ongoing process.
Whether he’s working one-on-one with a client, designing a new family strategy, or helping a professional athlete reclaim their life off the field, Jay leads with authenticity, lived experience, and a relentless belief in what’s possible when people are truly supported.
Nearly 2 decades ago
Both men credit their families not for “saving them,” but for doing the one thing that truly changed everything:
They stopped enabling.
That shared truth — that family change creates individual change — is now the foundation of Recovery In Action.
Jay is the guy who will brainstorm solutions at 2 a.m., show up to support a struggling parent, or help a treatment center rethink how they communicate.
Whatever he does, he’s all in.

Together, They Built Recovery In Action
Two men from different worlds — one structured, one chaotic — but both transformed by family truth, sobriety, and the belief that:
When the family changes, everything changes.
This is the heart of Recovery In Action.
Not a program.
Not a formula.
A relationship — built on honesty, guidance, and walking with families through the hardest seasons of their lives.
